Nursing Skills

• Select and perform therapeutic measures which are essential for effective execution of the nursing regime for patient /clients.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing regime for patient/client.
• Record and maintain nursing care plan and progress notes on patient/client to ensure continuity of care.
• Interpret and report response of patient/client to appropriate members of the health team
• Provide direct patient care
• Medication administration, vital signs, monitor results on a routine and as needed basis up to patients on a Medical-surgical unit.
• Phlebotomy, EKG, and IV insertion.
• Provide tracheotomy care and suctioning; perform sterile wound care, ostomy/peritoneal care and diabetic ulcers.
• Provide care of patients with NG/GT tubes, skin/skeletal traction, chest tubes, central lines, PCA pumps, and ventilators
• Insert and remove Foley Catheters.
