Hello! My name is Da eun Choi but I usually go by Lana! I was born in Busan, South Korea and immigrated to Queens, NY with my family when I was 3 years old. I always knew at a young age I wanted to help those in need when I grew up. My grandma is my inspiration for a lot of things in my life and I wish she was here so she can see everything I have achieved because of her.
If you took me back in time and told 6 year old me that I get to work on teeth all day she would be so proud. Ever since I was a little girl I would always follow my grandmother to get her dentures fixed at the dentist office. I remember loving how the dentist office smelled, and how cool it was to see the Doctor helping my grandma. My grandma suffered from type 1 diabetes so she lost almost all her teeth by the age of 50. I remember watching her take her insulin shot every day and wincing at the pain due to it. Due to her condition, my grandma struggled with her oral health which made me wonder how I could help. My grandma is the reason I fell in love with dental hygiene and if she was here right now I know she would be proud.
