Case study

Patient reports that gets this ulcerated lesion often and trauma from toothbrushing may be the caused for the lesion to re appear.

Minor aphthous ulcer, 2 mm in diameterĀ rounded with white pseudomembrane and raised red border locatedĀ on the attached gingiva apical to tooth #27.

We notice here severe attrition on the anterior maxillary and mandibular teeth caused by bad bruxism. Patient also reported sensitivity due to recession; this can also be contributed to the bruxism.

Although tooth wear increases with age, mouthguard/nightguard should be recommended to patients for the prevention of further damage.

Malocclusion, technical termĀ for crowded on this case, make even harder to keep up with oral hygiene for this specific patient.

Thus, it may result in tooth decay and/or gum disease.

PatientĀ has beenĀ reinforced with proper flossing technique at every hygiene visit.
