Service Learning Project — In our Public Health class, one of the assignments required us to visit a community and present an oral hygiene topic. For my group, we chose an elementary school and decided to present to about 80 kindergarten-aged children about the proper toothbrushing methods. We decided on this topic because we felt that it is important to educate children at a young age, as a prevention method, and for them to form good habits as they age.
Oral Pathology Paper — The topic of aggressive periodontitis was given to me by Dr. Brown to research, and I believe it helped me to better understand how this disease can affect a person’s oral health.
