Given that this was the first project that I had completed in this course, it really allowed me to explore many of the tools in design as well as key foundations. By having to take a design apart based on its shapes and lines that make it a whole and create something completely different, I gained a better appreciation for the foundations in design

Transparency Project
Our final project for this course was to create a piece of artwork that uses the concept of optical transparency based on a song or poem. I decided to do this project based on the song “Rebellion”. This song is the theme of Ragna the Bloodedge which I created in this work as i wanted to convey the strength and aura of this character. You can also see that the optical transparency is clearly visible in the clouds as the many colors overlap and create a transparent layer, giving off a mysterious and almost threatening vibe. This project taught me how to use color via transparency, uses of tints and shades, shape, composition, texture, focal points and foreshortening.
Portrait Project
The objective of this project was to do a portrait of any human or animal. I decided to use my knowledge of my manga art and graphic novel layout to create a portrait of two characters that i created some time ago and hopefully want to place in an upcoming work. This project taught me the important of facial structure, form, and use of hue gradation.
