Architectural Technology

At the associate degree level, this program prepares students for a wide range of professions that provide technical support to architects. At the baccalaureate level, it puts students on track toward becoming registered architects. Tools such as CADD and extensive studio work prepare graduates to be the architects of the 21st Century. There is no other program like it in The City University of New York.

Communication Design

Advertising design employs nearly 300,000 people in the U.S. in an industry with revenues of over $300 billion. Students learn their profession in state-of-the-art computer labs, working alongside faculty with real-world experience who can prepare them for the demands of this fast-paced, exciting profession. With an eye to the future, this program has developed at the baccalaureate level a strong focus on cross-platform and web-based design.

Entertainment Technology

The theme park, the arena concert, the trade show, the Broadway theater—all are venues for graduates of this baccalaureate program. The only one of its kind in the Northeast and one of the few in the world, the program trains students in cutting-edge technologies of sound, lighting, scenery, video, and show control.

Emerging Media Technologies

Emerging Media Technologies is an interdisciplinary program that integrates media design, computing, and engineering. The program provides comprehensive overviews and hands-on experiences in digital, tangible, and interactive media.

Industrial Design

Modern manufacturing requires extensive work in CADD, computer-aided drafting, and design. Our program allows students to prepare for careers as CADD systems managers, workstation operators, product developers, CAD/CAM programmers, and much more. Graduates can also continue into more advanced degrees in industrial design and related fields.
