ARCscholars is a design studio lab where City Tech and NYCHA scholars will collaborate on research and projects that enhance their awareness of critical issues of the design of the built environment, especially for healthy and durable housing for low income individuals and families in New York City.
WHAT: ARCscholars is a 7-week program for NYCHA young adults to work collaboratively with students from CITY TECH. Together, they will research the indoor and outdoor spaces at their developments and propose a design idea to enhance the built environment.
WHEN: October 7 – November 18, community celebration December 11, 2021
WHERE: class meetings will be virtual, with potentially some socially distanced site visits
HOW: Apply here (applicants must be NYCHA residents 16-24 years old)
WHY: You are interested in design and architecture. Successful participants will be eligible to earn a $250 stipend upon program completion.
