App Review #2 – Microsoft Teams

Another App we used at my internship was Microsoft teams. Although it wasn’t used as much as Basecamp 3 it was still an essential tool for our communication because it allowed for more open-ended conversation instead of just stuff related to specific projects. It was also connected to our work e-mails and we could use it to talk with anyone who worked for the company.

Microsoft Teams is a business chat service similar to Slack or HipChat, but it focuses on a business that already uses Microsoft Office 365 tools and want to collaborate based around those. Teams can find anything they need to get a collaborative task done such as voice or video call, providing information, or exchanging files via chat. My coworkers had a lot of fun using this app because it allowed them to post funny GIFs and they could talk about anything or share any information they wanted even if it wasn’t 100% work related.

Overall, This app offers a solid mix of fun, social ways to share information with co-workers. I would recommend it to any business. especially those that already use Office 365.

App Review #1 – Basecamp 3

For my internship we relied heavily on an app called Basecamp 3 which organizes our communications, projects and client work all in one source. It brought everything my team was working on in an organized, centralized, and clear manner so that everyone knew what to do without the need to always ask around.

This is a very user-friendly project management app with it’s simple design and easy to use features. My favorite is the “to-do list” which allows you to see all the projects in one place with the due date and the assigned person working on it. Anyone can click on a project and upload work or just leave a comment. Most of the work I did had to be uploaded on this site and I got a lot of feedback this way as well. There is also has an auto-save function that makes it almost impossible to lose information even if you accidentally delete a file or an important email .

Overall, out of  the few apps of it’s kind I have tried; this one is my favorite so far.
