Internships

I will currently be doing my internship at my current job Hanac Inc.

HANAC is a non profit organization dedicated to providing the education, vocational training and support services to enable everyone to reach their full potential. This organization was founded in 1972 in Astoria New York and it’s initial goal was  to address the needs of the new Greek immigrants living in the community.

Today, HANAC is the largest most successful social service organization helping over 30,000 individuals with a wide range of programs and services. These programs include:

I am currently apart of the Hanac Literacy Zone department. The vision for the Literacy zone is to provide focus in the community to increase the literacy of individuals from pre-k through postsecondary and in aduly literacy services. We work with many community partners to address our clients needs and support educational services. We are located at 23-16 30th avenue in Astoria NY.  We provide the following:

  • computers for conducting research
  • creating a resume
  • applying for employment
  • case management services to identify individual and family needs
  • ensures proper referrals to resources and linkages to organizational partners that can best service clients.
