Course Syllabus: Textiles

Course Description: The course provides an introductory survey of the contemporary and dynamically evolving business environment in the fashion and textiles industry. It explores both fashion wholesale and retail environments, aiming to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of various textile types. The emphasis is placed on the interaction between textiles and key players in the fashion industry, including merchandisers, buyers, and retailers.

Students gain foundational knowledge of fibers, yarns, cloth construction, finishes, and embellishments. This knowledge equips them with the skills necessary to assess quality and make informed fabric choices for contemporary fashion apparel and home furnishings.
