Assignments

This semester I learned alot through this course. I learned the significance of color and what makes color. (hue saturation and value) and the difference between all three. I also learned the importance of craftsmanship and how hard it can be to achieve. I also learned alot about how viewers can see art in numerous ways, and not everyone sees the same thing.

The Cooper Hewitt Museum looks very interesting. They have numerous unique exhibitions going on while we are set to go. Everything looks very colorful and eye catching. I am eager to see the art in person. I think I am mostly looking forward to Immersin Room. It looks really cool with the digital wall paper and it is controlled by the viewers! Something i’ve never seen before!

I learned that craftsman ship is exteremely important. Also that the darkest value doesn’t have to be completely dark and the lightest doesn’t have to be blank. I think the most dificult part about this project was finding the exact colors from the magazine. Also it was very hard to cut out the paint.

the rhythm book was a very cool exercise. I feel like I could have gotten a little more creative when it came to the flow and the texture I used.

I wish I was a little bit more unique when it came to my shapes. It was very hard to figure out which one I was going to use for the wall paper. But I did learn that you can make anything work in design its all about perspective!

A Design Related event I went to was this Ball Point Pen show in Bushwick. The Gallery was filled with drawings large and small, and each was created with a Ball point Pen. This show reflected all of the hard work and dedication that the artists put into each one of their works. It was very cool to see how many different things can be created with some imagination and a ball point pen!

Here is an image of texture that I took myself. I love this image because it is one of the first murals I stumbled upon in Brooklyn. I Love the texture of brick, and I love murals on top of brick!

Mo-Willems is the author and illustrator of Childrens books. I decided to choose this article because his designs have created childhood memories through his illustrations. His Style is very unique and he has been able to bring them back to life after years.

This link connects to a student’s art work that I desire. She uses various styles and themes. Also she also uses textiles. Her work is very neat and clear but also very creative and unique. She has various designs and sticks to the theme of each of her works. Very good craftsmanship!
