Auto CAD drawings must contain:
- Updated title block
- include in your unique logo
- include the class time, number, section, and instructor
- North arrow
- Graphic scale (for each unique scale)
- Dimensions for structural grid
Site maps to include the following:
- Scale
- Latitude and longitude coordinates of case study building
- Case study building outlined/highlighted
- Major urban features diagramed
- Case study building outlined/highlighted
- Major urban features diagramed
- Roof plan
2 (min) New layers (As part of AutoCAD file):
(+2 layers [29+2=31 min])
- use “US national CAD standard” common naming standards
- make sure you have at least one-layer line weight
- make sure you have layers for long – short – and – lines
- use CAPITAL letters only
- start with S or A prefix (for architecture or structural disciplines)
- keep the layers “0” and Defpoints as they required by the software
- prefix code X not use layers
- you may keep the prefix “Title” for title block information
Submittal:
- Upload your AutoCAD file using the e- transmit format
- Name files using the following naming convention:
- Course number semester/year_Professor initials Project Name Student Name (file number)
- For example: ARCH2331_ F24_AA_A01Logo_BFuller (01)
- files not conforming to department standards may not be graded.
Recommended:
- Complete PDF’s prints of all of your plans
- Create an analytical plan site diagram on your plans showing the angles photographs of the project indicating where the photographs were taken from, add these photographs to this reference plan.
