-Thorough supra and subgingival prophylaxis using cavitron and hand instruments
-Quadrant scaling/root planing on heavy periodontal cases
-Administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide to dentally anxious/sensitive patients
-placement of arestin in 5-7 mm pockets to reduce gingival inflammation, irritation and BOP
-Placement of sealants on molars and premolars to prevent caries. Cotton rolls are used for pediatric pts while rubber dams utilized for adults
-Taking of both digital and film xrays (BWS, FMS, PAN) to help diagnose caries, bone loss and abscess
-Supra and subgingival air polishing for complete removal of stains and biofilm
-Engine polishing using coarse and fine paste
-Application of fluoride using trays, gel and varnish to those who are at high risk for caries
-Thorough documentation of medical history, including medication interactions, vitals and allergy alerts
-Complete dental and perio charting using dentimax to plot caries, restorations, missing teeth, pockets, recession and BOP
-Taking and pouring of alginate impressions for crown and bridge construction
-Assessing high caries risk patients using CAMBRA form and referring them for further care
-Counseling patients on good nutritional habits (substituting soda, ceasing smoking etc)
-Recommending oral hygiene products (mouthrinses, toothpastes, brushes) and giving oral care instructions to patients as necessary
-Making dental appointments for new and recare patients
