On March 26th of 2019, I had the opportunity to participate in the Fluoride Varnish Program for Head Start Children. Although these children are raised with the unfortunate circumstance of low income, they were able to receive quality care after consent was given by their caregivers. The following services provided included:

• A thorough intra-oral examination
• Professional fluoride varnish application (5% Sodium Fluoride varnish)
• Documentation of findings

On November 29th of 2018, I attended the Greater New York Dental Meeting at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. My colleagues and I provided the children with an informative lesson based on nutrition. We created cheer/song lyrics in reference to healthy foods VS “sugary” foods that should be taken in moderation, and coordinated a dance which was performed to keep the children entertained and captivated by our message.
