Introduction about myself

Hello all, and welcome to my eportfolio! My name is  Brittany Gallo. I am 24 years old and reside in Staten Island, New York. I am currently in my fourth year at New York City College of Technology, as well as my final semester in the Dental Hygiene Program.

Prior to graduating from Tottenville High School in 2012, I chose to enroll in the Dental Assisting/Lab Technician program as my elective course. I was also hired to work as a dental assistant at 18 years old. I specialized in general office assisting composites, root canals, extractions, and prepping crown work. I also specialized in Orthodontic work, assisting in bondings, debonds, changing rubber bands, wires,  alginate impressions, and pouring  models.  After accumulating a vast amount of knowledge and work experience pertaining to dentistry, I was inspired to pursue a career that would enable me to be even more assertive in terms of educating and clinically treating patients to improve their oral health.

During the first two years of my college career, I took pre-requisite courses such as Anatomy and sociology, Microbiology, speech, and Chemistry, as well as many other elective courses.  All of my hard work, dedication, and perseverance paid off when I opened my mailbox to find my acceptance letter into NYCCT’s Dental Hygiene Program. Although my overall experience throughout this program was quite challenging, I did not allow any obstacles to interfere with my vision. My admiration for clinically treating patients grew immensely after receiving satisfactory responses from my patients.
