The dental hygiene experience is one that cannot be compared to another.  The program helped put my work ethic to the test and made me work to the best of my abilities.  Even though it was not an easy course it made me a better student. From this I gained knowledge on how to interact with other people in the dental setting. For example, in the beginning of freshman year I was timid and wasn’t confident as a provider.  Now that I am in the final stages of this experience I am much more confident in my abilities as a provider. This program forces you to get out your comfort zone and be the best that you can be. It also introduces to various situations that you may not be familiar with. Dealing with all the different types of patients made me much more aware of all various cultures that I was never a part of. Overall, this program has made me a better student, provider and peer to my fellow classmates.
