The Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Media Literacy Education and Scoop vil

Knowing how social media allows for us to share ideas and express our feelings quickly it can help promote and produce local business, small business and business who are here to help the public. Watching ‘Common Craft. Social media in plain English.”  gave a very biased view on how social media works. It gave us the analogy of ice cream and small business being promoted using boards. At the end of the video all of the business in “Scoopville” ended up prosperous. Not once did the video discuss the negative aspects of social media. It did not go into detail about how social media can directly affect the primary person.

Knowing social media is a tool that can be both good and bad there are terms and conditions that we have to agree with to allow social media into our life. The “code of best practices” is suppose to protect teachers against when using media in the classroom. This document again does not include social media at all. I assume that is a grey area. Giving that this document was needed in an era where we had new approaches to teaching , it should be revised to enhance the 2015 strategies.
