Trip Review: United Teachers Federation Print Shop

Graphics Communication Workshop Tues 11:30am

My trip to the United Teachers Federation print shop was pretty interesting.  I really enjoyed the level of pride that our host had for his work.  He was knowledgeable about print techniques in a way that only a seasoned professional could.  Not a single print machine had been overlooked when showing us around.

There were many printing machines in our host’s print shop.  Many of these machines were intimidating at first.  This point of view changed after we were shown how each machine worked.  These machines though big were usually charged with simple tasks.  The difference however is that these machines do print tasks on a larger, faster, more commercial scale.

Overall, the trip was exciting as well as enlightening.  I felt that the world of printing os something not to be afraid of.  I want to thank our host once again for the amazing tour of the United Teachers Federation workshop.  I now feel inclined to work at a print shop.
