Fluoride Varnish Service Learning
This program gave me an opportunity to provide preventative service to Head Start Children in Brooklyn. The children ages 3 to 5 and come from families of low income. My role was to do an intra-oral screening and look for any pathological findings/early childhood caries. I documented all findings on a report sheet. I was also able to provide fluoride varnish.
Give Kids A Smile – Greater NY Dental Meeting at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York
I had an awesome time volunteering with Colgate at Give Kids A Smile at the Greater New York Dental Meeting. I was able to have hands on experience with educating children the proper way of tooth brushing.
Sent care packages for people in Haiti with SADHA
After the devastating earthquake that took place in Haiti, our SADHA team came together and prepared 500 oral care packages for people in Haiti. These oral care packages consisted of essential supplies such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and oral rinses.
Toothbrush Sales
Being part of the SADHA team, we plan fall and spring toothbrush fundraisers! This is a perfect chance to interact with students around the campus to educate and recommended what type of dental products they should be using. The money we raise helps us donate oral health supplies to communities and finance our SADHA student events.
