I am working as a dental assistant at an office in New York. I learned the importance of teamwork, customer service, patient care, and the workings of a dental office. I worked with a team of skilled professionals that took the time to challenge and encourage me to follow my dream of becoming a dental hygienist.

In a typical dentists office, the dental hygienist would have many responsibilities, such as teaching clients how important it is to maintain good oral hygiene and instructing them on the principles of preventive oral care.

I chose dental hygiene as a career for a variety of other reasons such as salary, education, social interaction, convenience and self-satisfaction. I learnt punctuality, respect, responsibility, time management and that if I am going to do something that it should be done correctly. Dental hygiene is a respected and social occupation, I enjoy interacting with people of different ages and backgrounds.
