Group 1: We can recycle art.

In my opinion I believe everyone makes art without even knowing it. Sometimes people get rid of an object or image and someone else will probably enjoy it. But of course, if an artist makes a project without copying others, he or she owns it. On the other hand, artists like John Baldessari recycle images and objects and create something more interesting. I did something similar in high school. My teacher gave us a pile of thrown away paintings. We had to reuse it by adding our own work on the painting. It was uneasy for me at first because I felt I might ruin the persons painting but then again he or she no longer wants to own it and I did not want it to go back in the trash so I reused it. Many artists get inspired and may take something old to make something new. I would consider John Baldessari work art even though he did not make it from scratch he saved, discovered, and recycled all these many different pieces of art.

John Baldessari use of recycle images to produce art has endless possibilities, for those who want to recreate a piece of art in their own vision. Simply best put “One man trash is another man’s treasure”. Without a doubt I consider his work to be art, because if I gave out the same picture of grass landscape to two different people, and told them to add their own personal touch. I wouldn’t get back the same picture because they wont share the same view. After all isn’t art suppose to personify to each their own inspiration? Art isn’t own by anyone it’s more of a authentic name tag of the artist that is attached to its masterpiece that makes it owned literally. (Leonardo da Vinci, Mona Lisa). Figuratively speaking others might think its not art at all. Vise Versa I could hate what I created but another person might appreciate for what it is. The question “Who makes art?” comes across to me that the answer has to be a specific person & routine. The reality is the world is your canvas, there is no right way of making art that’s whats great about it. The answer is clearly everyone. I can mold something out of clay, you may paint a portrait, you can collect trash and glue it to the cardboard box. Finally its the effort that you put in your creation that makes it worth your while.

I do agree with the whole ” one mans trash is another ones treasure”, sometimes with art a fresh pair of eyes can make for example a finished old painting into something even better then it was. Sometimes other peoples input gives that piece of art a whole new meaning. Say for example you find an abstract sculpture that has been recycled, the original artist could have made the sculpture to symbolize something sad and depressing, but with a fresh new pair of eyes working on this recycled sculpture u can make it into your own, like he said that no one really owns art because your art can look like a bunch of trash to another person, art is for everyone but for themselves because no one will truly understand your art to your exact meaning because your art comes from the thoughts and situations inside your head. so yes u can recycle art.

The video of John Baldessari has made people think about art in another way. There are so many ways to create art be it by paper, pictures, paint, glass etc.The possibilities are endless. I suppose the saying ” Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” hold true for this man’s artwork. Yes, he does recycle art and other people will think it is magnificent, amazing, aesthetically pleasing. And other people will think it is just scraps and bits and pieces from other peoples art work. But no matter what there will always be a debate on what is art and what is not art.

i feel that anything can be turned into a piece of art.
everyone is a artist in there own way.some individuals might have a different taste in art. but if what ever they find “pretty” is ugly too you it all depends on the person.
me myself i am very picky when it comes to working with art and i choose rather unique things i go more for dark paintings with unique designs .
