Not just seeing but experiencing the art

Honestly i like where he wants to take this. in art we usually take emotions from past experiences and put them on paper (or sculpt) then the viewers try to interpret it. Höller gives us the opportunity to appreciate his work with not only what we see but our 4 other senses as well. on top of that he create an adventure for us in the form of an amusement park. it was funny when the NY times called it the jackass for the museum. i believe that his work is not traditional art but artistic nevertheless. the sistine chapel and ecstasy of saint teresa were monumental at the time because it was fresh and unique. people wouldn’t dear come close to attempting artwork like this as if it was taboo. this reminds me of the expression of joy by Robin Rhode. its different to what Höller shows but it is original and genius.
