Vignette #2 Water the Essence of Life
Water may well become the most endangered and scarce element on earth. Yet we know that it is vital to life. This second Vignette will dramatize the importance of water in our lives. There are many aspects of water to concern us: its clean healthful quality or pollution; its abundance or scarcity; its benign importance for vegetation or its destructive force; its cycle through the earth and air. You may take any idea about water’s role anywhere in the world and present your thoughts vividly.
The assignment is primarily visual and should show a strong aesthetic. The grade will be based 50% on presentation and 50% on the idea that shows a serious issue concerning water.
Please follow these instructions:
- The format is paper, 11×17
- Present your idea as a cartoon in panels or as a poster – with strong impact
- Include a title and your name
- Use a minimum of text to enhance the idea and make the text a quality part of the vignette.
- Color is of prime importance
- Use any medium you wish: colored pencil, markers, oil pastels, crayons, collage, water colors, etc.
- Hand drawings are strongly recommended
