Building Technology is the synthesis of design, materials, assemblies, performance, and documentation. This sequence of courses touches all of these topics and explores their relationships.

Building Technology I starts with architectural drawing and building tectonics and an introduction to the range of primary materials used in construction, with a particular focus on masonry construction. Hand drawing techniques foster the development of understanding of scale, line weight, and drawing coordination.

Case study structures in New York City offer first hand experiences as a context for each assignment.

This site contains the materials that are the basis for each section of the course, although some sections may have slight variations in their sequence or emphasis.
