After COVID-19, we all live in an online environment. Therefore, we shouldn’t be surprised that an interview is online as well.

Before the interview, I did some research of the company because I wanted to know who they are and what they do. The day of the interview I was very nervous, I wanted to be accepted into their team so I did my best to be chosen. I was pretty much ready, I dressed professionally and I also had my questions written on a sheet of paper.

They asked me some questions regarding my education, my goals and why I wanted to be part of their team. I think this is one of the questions that many companies ask because in one way or another it helps them understand the reason behind your interest.

After that, I realized that the fact that an interview is online, it does not mean that you should pay less attention to details, this is as important as a face-to-face interview.

Before you start reading this, check your social media! Do you connect with your peers? Do you follow your school and department social media accounts? Have you joined their facebook group? The reason behind this questions lies in the fact that I got my internship through my instagram! YES! I know it is hard to believe but that is how I got my first internship. I was checking my instagram, as I always do… It was during quarantine and I saw a COMD post. The place where I am currently doing my internship was looking for interns for the fall semester. I had nothing to lose so I applied to the internship without thinking twice. I also saw this as an opportunity to practice my skills and knowledge as a designer. I encourage you to follow your school social media accounts, they are constantly posting events and job opportunities!
