DB11 – Considering Activities that Align with Standards
Reflection:
The purpose of this discussion board is to outline an activity that we would use in our classroom, align it with learning standards, and incorporate technology. In the end, we would be able to identify the level the activity is in a SAMR model. The activity of creating a poster is usually done independently by students; however, going over the SAMR model, I decided to change it to an interactive team project. To do this, I needed to look for a type of platform that allowed students to brainstorm, discuss, and motivate one another. As a result, I found Coogle, which is the first time I’ve ever heard of it. In this activity, I also Incorporated students to share their overall product, be creating a website. Previously I have never heard of the SAMR model. Still, it is fascinating to see what makes technology just an enhancement and what separates it from being a transformation to a lesson. I have a better understanding of how I should be implementing technology into my classroom, and that just substituting a computer for paper isn’t the greatest direction.
