Visual Vocabulary

The kind of things I’m interested in drawing are mainly fantasy characters for I usually enjoy fantasy based content. It’s fun to think about worlds and time beyond the present, to escape to another era where the fantastical and the mythical converge. I also enjoy the vintage/Victorian aesthetic so I tend to draw Victorian based fashion and characters in them. The Victorian aesthetic can be very regal but also very simplistic, overall it’s refined taste and that’s why I enjoy it.

But mainly I tend to draw people in story-like scenarios as I often draw characters in action, characters in motion for they appear more animated that way and animation is one of the things I’m currently pursuing. Some visuals that might become important visual signatures are the vintage/Victorian wear as most of my female characters wear in some form a corset and skirt even if they are not fully drawn in vintage clothing. Another visual signature could be the swords and armor as I tend to draw knights as part of the fantasy aesthetic and to an extent medieval so that can be expanded further.

Overall I’m still finding my ground as most people have already found their type of art style, their art themes, and aesthetic while I’m really just drawing whatever I find interesting and adding my flair to it. Once I settled into an area to work in then I could probably find my visual signature.
