Hello! My name is Alvaro Jimenez.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my E-Portfolio. Here I think you will find multiple assets of mine that are in your interest. I am currently a Civil Engineering Technology student at NYCCT, where we as students gain exposure to several opportunities and areas of the field. For instance, the geotechnical aspect of the industry as well as courses that focus on water supply, design, drafting and field surveying. My favorite experience thus far has been the amount of hands on work we have at our college. We work with all kinds of soil by using it with a variety of labs and tests. Moreover, we have a chance to test concrete. In this process we have the opportunity to mix our own concrete and also have a sense of what the field work is like. As well as surveying, I am currently taking my first surveying course and have already learned how to use the “The Gun” very well. Soon i will also be handling the drafting program called Revit. Here I will be creating 3D drawing on the computer as well as 2D drawings.
