History

Aerospace Engineering finds its roots back to 1799 with Sir George Cayley. He is the one who discovered the four acting principles on objects in flight. They are weight, lift, drag and thrust.

The next major breakthrough came with the invention of the three axis control invented by the Wright Brothers. They had invented this control system prior to attaching it to their plane and knew that it would work. It was clearly successful as most planes use it today

On December 17, 1903 the Wright Brothers have successfully flown the first heavier than air airplane. Human flight was once a dream and is now becoming a reality.

War is a proponent of technology and the airplane was no different. Shortly after their discovery the airplane was used in WWI as well as WWII
