Some of Australia’s landmarks are the Sydney Opera House, Twelve Apostles, Watarrka National Park, Kakadu National Park, Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Shark Bay, Ballarat, Kangaroo Island, Port Arthur, Heart Reef, Cable Beach, and Bondi Beach. The Sydney Opera House was finished in 1973. Jørn Utzon designed it. This was where many performances were performed by both Aussies and people from around the globe. People go to this iconic building all the time. The building resembles shells. The Twelve Apostles are limestone pillars in Victoria state. Though the name is twelve, there are only 8 currently standing. It takes a long time for erosion to create a pillar. This landmark was once part of the cliffs near the ocean. In Watarrka National Park, the landmark is Kings Canyon. In Kakadu National Park, you can find Ubirr Rock Art, and Ayers Rock otherwise known as Uluru. Uluru is one of the most famous landmarks. It is a big rock that stands 1,148 feet. In Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, the place to go is Kata Tjuta. That is where you can find large rock formations. This is one of the two landmarks with the other being Ayers Rock. Mount Olga was named after Queen Olga. Mount Olga is the highest or tallest. Places like Kata Tjuta and Uluru are sacred to the natives. Shark Bay has its flora and fauna. It is one of Australia’s natural wonders. Ballarat is a town where people moved in to find gold. Ballarat isn’t famous because of gold. The natives know about the place because of a rebellion, the only civil rebellion that has ever happened in Australia. It happened at a place called Eureka Stockade. Kangaroo Island is known for its nature and wildlife. Port Arthur is a historic site where the worst prisoners of the British empire were held. It’s a tourist attraction now. Heart Reef is a famous place known for having the Great Barrier Reef there. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef in the world and is a must for nature lovers and those going to Australia. It is a natural wonder. Cable Beach and Bondi Beach are beaches in Australia. Cable is iconic and Bondi Beach is one of the most well known in the world. These landmarks are interesting and worth checking out. They are different than what you are used to but you should always look for more experiences.

The significance of a place’s history shows culture and what the past was like but landmarks aren’t the only thing that shows culture. There’s cuisine. Every country has it’s cuisine. Australia’s foods are Vegemite, Fairy Bread, Tim Tams, Meat Pies, Anzac Cookies, Fish and Chips, Pavlova, Beetroot, Witchetty Grub, Kangaroo, Emu, Barramundi, Lamingtons, Golden Gaytime, and Laksa. Australia is known for coffee. Alcoholic Ginger Beer is a drink found in Australia. Vegemite is a paste that is usually buttered on bread. Fairy Bread is a white bread with butter and sprinkles. Tim Tams are Australians’ favorite chocolate biscuit. In meat pies, the ingredients differ. This is a pie with meat in it. Anzac cookies were first made by women to send to the people fighting in WW1. These cookies are cheap and last long. Fish and Chips is fried fish with chips. Pavlova is a cake topped with fruit and cream. Australians eat a lot of beetroot. Beetroot is a plant. Witchetty Grub is an insect that tastes like chicken and has a pretty big amount of protein. The Kangaroo and Emu can be found on the Australian Coat of Arms. These animals provide meat to Australians. Barramundi is a fish dish. Barramundi is the Aboriginal name for a type of seabass. Lamingtons are sponge cake cover in chocolate sauce. Sometimes raspberry sauce is used. Lamingtons are cut into a square. Golden Gaytime is a type of ice-cream bar. There are more flavors than just Golden Gaytime. A Golden Gaytime is toffee and vanilla ice-cream covered in chocolate then dipped in biscuit pieces. Laksa is a spicy noodle soup. Laksa is the Australian version of pizza and tacos. Doesn’t this just sound delicious? Just imagine yourself in Australia eating these wonderful foods.

Some things you can only find in Australia. There are some things you can only do in Australia. You can learn to play a Didgeridoo. The Didgeridoo is an instrument. You can visit the “Big Bogan” which is a huge sculpture. In the outback, you can ride a Camel. The outback is unique and is only in Australia. You can in three hours climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You can dive and see the crocodiles near you. You can scuba dive and/or snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef. You can dive in there. You can also take a boat ride around the reef. You can take pictures with marsupials. You could see the flora and fauna of native of Australia. You can climb the Uluru. You can cage dive and be in the water with sharks. You could swim with whale sharks. There is compared to other places many one of a kind things to do in Australia.

Next time you want to go on vacation you should go to Australia. Australia is unique and noteworthy. Australia has places you should check out and things you should learn or do. The food should be tried. Of course, all cuisine should be tried but Australia’s food sound very yummy. You won’t find some food in the U.S.A. Doesn’t the outback sound interesting?
