PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA) has roots that go back to 1898 when Caleb Bradham, an entrepreneur from New Bern, North Carolina, created Pepsi-Cola and offered it to his pharmacy patrons. In 1965, the CEO of Pepsi-Cola, Donald Kendall, and the CEO of Frito-Lay, Herman Lay, formed a single company out of their respective company. They called it “a marriage made in heaven” because it was “perfectly-salty snacks served alongside the best cola on earth”. The vision of Kendall and Lay became one of the world’s leading food and beverage companies called PepsiCo. PepsiCo’s products are eaten more than one billion times a day in more than 200 countries. In 2020, PepsiCo made more than $70 billion. PepsiCo includes Frito-Lay, Gatorade, Pepsi-Cola, Quaker, Tropicana and SodaStream. It has 23 brands that make more than $1 billion each annually. The company has seven divisions. Each division has its own unique history and way of doing business. The divisions are PepsiCo Beverages North America; Frito-Lay North America; Quaker Foods North America; Latin America; Europe; Africa, Middle East and South Asia; and Asia Pacific, Australia/New Zealand and China.
