Lenox Avenue: Midnight by Langston hughes

The poem, “Lenox avenue: Midnight.” by Langston Hughes addresses life and pain. Hughes compares life to a jazz rhythm. He plays on the word honey, and leaves it up to the reader to decide if the word relates to life of if its directed towards a particular person. The Gods he mentions seems to be the rich, laughing at the pain and struggle of the poor. My conclusion of this poem is that it’s brilliant and it has wonderful wordplay.
