As a summary of my final presentation it was suggested that my configuration appeared to be two slabs stacked on each other and that I should explore with differentiating the elevations of each space I had. The roof also was too flat. I received good feedback on my clarity of the project and my diagrams. My goals for my next project in my next class would be to focus more on having certain parts of my configuration that are different than the rest.

Some lessons I learned were that the stair position is not ideal (blocks my dog trot), the relaxation space location might not be at the best location because it might not get used a lot since people have to up stairs to it. One thing I could improve on is my section drawings.

CONFIGURATION 4: PROGRAM
CONFIGURATION 4: OUTDOOR SPACES
For my Parti I decided to explore public and public relations and wanted to incorporate and outside area because court yards are ideal for Hot-dry areas. I deleted my Parti because it kept my idea of the separation of public and private spaces while having the mutual and outside spaces in the center. My next steps would be to see how my configuration works with respect to the site and climate.

NOTES:
- GRASS AND OTHER GROUND COVERS LOWER GROUND TEMPERATURES.
- OVERHANGS OVER OPENINGS HELP THE AIR FLOW UPWARDS FOR A COOLING EFFECT.
- BUILDING FORMS SHOULD ENCLOSE COURTYARD SPACES
- REDUCE SOLAR AND CONDUCTIVE HEAT GAIN.
- PROMOTE COOLING BY EVAPORATION USING USING PLANT LIFE AND WATER FEATURES.
- SOLAR SHADING FOR WINDOWS AND OUTDOORS SPACE.
- DECIDUOUS TREES AND VINES FOR SHADE AND GLARE PROTECTION.

PLAN VIEW OF ALL ROOMS: RELAXATION SPACE, EATING SPACE, SLEEPING SPACE (LARGER),SLEEPING SPACE (SMALLER),COOKING SPACE, GROOMING SPACE.
RELAXATION SPACE:
A room intended for relaxation should be able to provide comfort and space. Things that can be done in a room intended for relaxation can include sleeping, reading, viewing the outside world from inside, and socializing. This is a space that is meant to be peaceful and have a sense of tranquility, lighting plays a big role in giving a space its “emotion”, that is why I believe that the room should have a view of the natural view outside and to allow sunlight to shine in.
EATING SPACE:
A space intended for eating should have a dining table centered in the room. The room should have seating around the table for the family to sit and it should also have a place where food and drinks can be placed. This is a special room in the house because it is the room used to bring people together to communicate. The room should also have a window for ventilation since it is intended for a few people to be there.
SLEEPING SPACE (LARGER):
A large sleeping space should have a lot of room to walk around in and I feel like it should have high ceilings. A large sleeping room can have night stand on each side and even a small coffee table along with a seat or two. This space can also have a large window instead of the smaller ones to show the difference in space. It is usually preferred to have a bed away from the window to prevent sun light from shining directly onto ones face and to avoid becoming sick from an opened window.
SLEEPING SPACE (SMALLER):
A smaller sleeping space has a feeling of more coziness since there is less space. This space can include a twin or full size bed , one or two night stands, and maybe a chair with a desk. Lighting should be manipulated in smaller rooms to make them appear more spacious. This is a room where a person can come in and be to themselves which makes it good for studying or relaxing.
COOKING SPACE:
A cooking space is an important part of a house because it is usually the busiest and favorite place because who doesn’t love a home cooked meal!. To me this space should have enough space to be able to move around to make food comfortably. These spaces usually have a small table and chairs in them because some people like to eat in their cooking spaces. Often people in their cooking have washing machines for dirty dishes, a stove, and a refrigerator. I feel like a window should always be in a cooking space in case of smoke from burning food.
GROOMING SPACE:
The grooming space is where there should be window that does not point to a public area, this is where people want the most privacy. There is usually a bath tub, in some cases a shower or both. This space can be small because is it not a place where there is usually no more than one or two people. Lighting or space is not so important in this space.
