Writing and Reading in a Digital Age: An Introduction to College Writing for the 21st Century

During the storm, I was home all day with my entire family. We live near the east river so we did have some flooding on the blocks closest to the water. Car tires were under water. My dad and I had gone outside at one point when the rain had calmed down to get some fresh air. We saw so many people taking pictures of what was going on, all huddled around the area that had gotten flooded. The flood didn’t affect me and my family as much but my heart does go out to those who had lost a lot during the storm. Losing the internet for 2-3 days was a huge loss for me so I can’t even imagine how it would feel to lose my home. The one positive thing that came out of the storm was that I was able to spend some quality time with my family. Juggling both school and work made it difficult for me to relax and truly spend time with them so I was able to do that and interact with them.

Sorry for the late response, I had everything in my tablet written out but never had the time to submit it.

When it comes to college writing I’m always concerned about the introduction and conclusion. I don’t want to repeat myself or just re-write the same ideas in other words.

I have one question,is it appropriate to “I” alot?

My civics teacher in highschool said so,but i wasn’t sure.

As of right now I don’t have any questions about College writing.  When it comes down to the assignment assigned , I just try my best and take it one step at a time.

I always thought when you start with an essay you start off by writing a draft but with college writing its different. How do I prepare a draft?

1.Must we use MLA formatting for every RWA we write?

2. Do we submit our work via media section in dashboard or google docs?

i dont really have any questions about college writing but if i must then:

1. is there any toher way to write a college grade essay other then the basic strucure that was taught to us?

How not to connect the conclusion to the thesis?

How to know which topics to talk about in an essay?

When I was in high school I was always told that the conclusion must connect to the thesis statement even if I kind of repeat the same thing.

I get very confused when I know what we are supposed to be writing but I don’t know what topics to mention in the essay.
