i don’t have any questions about resource library readings.
Dear Students,
I just wanted to check in with you regarding the Research Projects in order to offer some guidance and to encourage those of you working on similar topics to stay in touch regarding research resources.
Here is a list of the Research Project Topic Worksheets that I have received so far:
Michael (Video Games and Behavior: _____________________)
Moises (Steroids and Sports in the U.S.: ___________________)
Sharone (Sickle Cell Anemia and _______: _________________)
Rosario (Income Inequality in the U.S.: Exploring Causes and Solutions)
Joseph (Food in America: __________________)
Where you see a blank (___________________), please try to fill it in. You will notice with Rosario’s project that her project title refers to her topic (Income Inequality in America) and includes a subtitle (Exploring Causes and Solutions), which tells the reader what her approach to the topic will be. Please remember: college research papers do more than report information. They analyze, explore, or explain a problem. Therefore, you will need to have more than one term to research, e.g., obesity and children, or even better, obesity, children, and social habits in the U.S. in the 21st c.
I have not yet received worksheets from: Don, Tawaina, Marta, Rachel and Zam.
I don’t have any questions concerning college research.
Where We Are Re: College Writing
Some questions I still have about college writing are how I can conclude an essay without sounding as if I am constantly repeating myself. I catch myself doing this all the time where in my conclusion I tend to connect it with my thesis and in hopes get my point across but I seem as if I’m just summarizing my whole essay and it tends to bore the audience. Also what are some other types of essays that we will experience writing in the future? We learned about personal essays and for our midterm we learned about argumentative essays. Are there other different types that we will come across?
