During my time interning for the fortune Society, my skills and knowledge in graphic design was tested. It was a challenge  going from working on home projects to working in a professional environment alongside co-workers, supervisors and short deadlines. Although my time as a intern was brief, I was able to gain insight and learn many new things as a aspiring graphic designer and someone who is still relatively new to a professional work environment. My time as a graphic designer  in Fortune Society has also taught me how important a good work flow is and the impact it has on your productivity.

I believe that I managed to fulfill my duties as a graphic design intern at the Fortune Society and fulfilled the expectations  of my supervisors. That being said, I have also realized that there are still many skills that need to be improved and worked on inorder to become a more efficient and professional designer. Working on Fortune Society’s program documents have taught me the important of being extremely careful with proofreading and to be flexible with changes in the work environment. For one particular project, there was a typo error for one the sub headers that resulted in the loss of time. In order to avoid repeating the same mistake, I received help from copywriters in the department. Halfway through my internship, there was a drastic change in the work environment. Fortune Society was experiencing a major shift in staff. Because of the sudden change in staff, many of Fortune Society’s previous and current documents had to be quickly updated or completely changed.
