My role in the Fortune Society internship is as a graphic designer intern. During my time there , I create brochures and flyers for events, notice forms and other various documents. On certain occasions, I help out with photography during special events. I have two supervisors, one is Jeffrey Jones who is the head graphic designer. My second supervisor is John Runowicz who decides what projects I take on and editorial changes that needs to be made.  I found my internship through a program called CUNY Service Corps. In order to get the internship, I went through a series of short interviews. During first half of the interview, the employers asked for everyone’s thoughts on public service programs and nonprofit organizations. We were given a brief amount of time to write our thoughts down and presented them in the form of a short speech. During the second half of the interview, all applicants had to create and present a fictional nonprofit organization and sell the idea to the interviewers. There was a two month gap in time between the interview and receiving an acceptance reply from my internship site.
