The word I have chosen is Scarlet, I had originally chosen the word Red but since the word has a large array of hues and shades, I figured that it was better to choose a specific shade of red which is why I chose Scarlet. The color itself was often seen as a color of power and authority, The color has religious meaning however in Christianity it is used to describe a person who did sex work as they were described to wear purple and Scarlet however in the Catholic Church it is more used by the Cardinals to demonstrate their loyalty to their beliefs. Scarlet is a brighter red almost orange and can often be most commonly associated with the bird known as the Scarlet Macaw. It can also be associated with the Scarlet Fever that turns the tongue into a scarlet like color. The word itself mainly comes from old French word “escarlate” which meant Rich Cloth however in the late 1300s in English it started to be used to describe the cloths that had the bright slightly orange color and by the 1400s it was the word used to describe the color itself instead of just the cloth.
