Selby Wynn Schwartz’ novella, A Life in Chameleons” follows the life of Leopoldo Fragoli in a story told through collage or fragments, a form Schwartz masterfully incorporated into her Booker nominated novel, After Sappho.
For our class we’ll look at the Wikipedia page of Leopoldo Fragoli as well as an excerpt of the novella to consider both how historical figures might be worked into fiction and to consider the collage form.
