This heartbreaking and deceptively light story by Vanessa Chang, author of the story collection of the same title and a novel The Storm We Made, uses humor and language so deftly. you almost don’t notice this is a story that is ultimately about acceptance of loss and impending grief. It’s published in The Commuter, a series curated by the online magazine, Electric Literature, that is is consistently worth the read.
