My name is Charielys Adames and I’m from The Bronx, New York. I went to Herbert H. Lehman High School and during those years I took an interest in pursuing a degree in Psychology until my Senior year. Since it was my last year in High School, I started questioning that career path and decided to do research about different majors offered in all CUNY colleges. I’ve always been interested in design and arts and decided to pursue that career path even though my High School didn’t offer classes related to it, so I didn’t really know what to expect. But as years went by, I completed my Associates degree in Digital Design at Queensborough Community College and then transferred to New York City College of Technology to continue my education and pursue my bachelor’s degree in Communication Design.
During my college career, I’ve learnt a lot about editing software like Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. For my classes I’ve designed posters, banners, flyers, magazine covers and layouts, books covers, calendars, etc. A few of my favorite classes include Communication Design I, and Photoshop and Typography class. Outside of class, I often watch YouTube video tutorials to learn more about editing software to expand my knowledge and be able to do many more things. Other activities I enjoy doing are cycling, listening to different music genres, and watch American and Korean movies and TV shows.
