Evergreen Charter Elementary School, Hempstead, NY, 11550. I provided age-appropriate oral hygiene instructions and reinforcement of good oral habits to about three hundred students in grades 1-4th,
Head Start program at Brooklyn, NY, 11214.
Community outreach and oral health education at Head Start, I provided age-appropriate oral hygiene instructions for kids ages 3-5 years old, using interactive demonstrations to engage with them in a fun way, and also applied Fluoride Varnish to support caries prevention.
My participation in these community services was very rewarding and gave me the opportunity to connect the classroom knowledge with community oral health education. I really enjoy teaching young children about oral hygiene and the importance of a healthy diet for strong teeth and development. Using simple, interactive demonstrations made the learning engaging and fun for them. These experiences strengthened my communication skills and reinforced the importance of prevention and community outreach in dental hygiene.
