Week 6 – Communication

When working as part of a team, communication is essential. Clear communication ensures that everyone understands their responsibilities and stays aligned on the project’s goals and timeline. Throughout my internship, I have seen how important it is to communicate regularly, especially when priorities or plans change.

While I was conducting customer outreach, I was asked to pause the project because the owner decided that the company was not ready to contact any additional customers at that time. Because the change was communicated clearly, I was able to stop my work on that task immediately and wait for further instructions rather than continuing in the wrong direction.

Working in a small company has shown me how important communication is in day-to-day operations. Since the team is small, everyone relies on one another to share updates, provide feedback, and communicate changes quickly. Even a small adjustment in priorities can affect the entire team’s workflow. This experience has reinforced the importance of staying flexible, asking questions when needed, and maintaining open communication to ensure projects run smoothly.
