Abstract paper
The show abstract on Netflix is about several types of designs. From stage design to shoe design and many more. The episodes I watched were both shoe design and a stage design. Both have similarities and differences, along with many things that I learned.
In the shoe design episode, the individuals was named was Tinker Hartfield. His story was to me very interesting. He started out as a well known athlete during his educational career. However, he had stumbled upon a injury that ruined his whole athletic career, which caused him to have to give up on being an athlete. However, what inspired me about his story was how he made the best out of a bad situation. Although, he couldn’t compete, his architecture and his experience as an athlete arose another gift of designing he didn’t know was there which was designing sneakers for Michael Jordan.
Also, another design episode that I saw was with the stage designer Es Devlin. What also inspired me about her story was how she didn’t know what she wanted to do. However, when she found something she liked she stuck to it and strived to be where she wanted to be in life. Which shows how dedicated and determined she is for her passion and for what she likes to do.
To conclude, this inspired me in a grand way because this makes me want to persevere and be determined to achieve my goals in the design industry as these two individuals have done as well in their lives.
