In this week’s progress it has been extremely busy and stressful. The reason I say so is because I want to keep my options open. I had gotten accepted to both YALDA US and Changing the present. However, I applied to about 10 internships more through the first week in the internship class until now just to see if I can find an internship that is paid and more convenient with commuting. I received emails from Changing the present about my start date and when I would be starting my first project. Along with emails from other internships like the AIR here at city tech and an internship job I was rewarded through work study program called Public service corps.
I rejected the internship from YALDA US because I was asked to sign a contract that was absurd and extended pass the semester which was extremely inconvenient for me.
I was told through the email to come in for an interview for AIR internship in city tech on the 18th of September. And for Public service corps on the 19th of September. In the meanwhile, I decided to take the internship at Hotel Pennsylvania for the Changing the present internship. Although it is unpaid I decided to “ take the bird in the hand” as professor Goetz says. Also I decided to take this internship because this internship is something that I know for sure that I was offered and the other ones are just interviews. Until I know if I was offered the jobs at the other sites and if they are more convenient for me and if they are paid, I would then reassign myself to another internship.
