Benny

Benny Morduchowitz (he/him) has taught writing workshops for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, currently teaches at Borough of Manhattan Community College, has taught at CityTech, and has been tutoring at CityTech, on and off, for a few years now. He works to assist students in achieving their goals at any stage of the writing process, for any kind of writing. He prefers working with students on structural/content aspects of their papers, focusing on the points you are making, and how clearly and strongly you are making them, but he is also more than happy to assist with the grammar and clarity of lab reports, reviews, emails, and applications of students concerned about their English skills. He spends his free time trying to read too many books at the same time, and figuring out ways to make streaming videos feel more like flipping through channels on TV. Specialties: English, film, art, architecture, religious studies, reading comprehension, brainstorming, and anything thesis driven.

Jackie

Jacquelyn Blain (she/her) has been a working writer her whole life — and has an MA in English, MFA in Screenwriting, and PhD candidacy in film/tv studies — and she knows just how crazy-making it can be to put words on paper (or screen). Which is why she loves working with writers to figure things out at any step of the process. Jackie is also a WGA writer-producer with close to 100 hours of credited produced network television. Currently, she teaches composition at CityTech and television writing at Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, and has taught technical and professional writing, film studies, screenwriting, and narrative writing for video games. Her paid gigs include medical journal articles, technical documents, film criticism, and creative non-fiction. She lives in Brooklyn with her cross-eyed cat who regularly visits her Zoom calls.
