KLIOBio:

Carol (klio) Burrell is a native New Yorker, an author (comics, science fiction, romance!) and illustrator (mostly comics), and former editorial director of the Graphic Universe imprint of Lerner Publishing Group.
She attended Cornell University, where she studied Classics and Astrophysics, and has worked as a children’s, YA, and comics editor for Clarion Books, First Second, Abrams, and (currently) Epic! Originals.
Her (on hiatus but ongoing) webcomic SPQR Blues is an historical drama set in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, with characters are based on the actual, ordinary inhabitants of the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. She is also the translator of several series of French graphic novels for kids, teens, and adults.

Anthony Accardo was born in New York City, and spent his youth in Southern Italy where he studied art and design.  He holds a B.Tech. in Communication Design,and an MFA in Illustration, and is currently an Assistant Professor at New York City College of Technology where he teaches advanced illustration and character design.
A member of the Society of Illustrators, Accardo has won several national and regional awards.  He has illustrated numerous books worldwide and is perhaps best known for his work on the Nancy Drew Notebooks series.

Eli Neugeboren is an award-winning illustrator, writer, and professor living and working in Brooklyn, NY. He is an Associate Professor, with tenure, at City Tech (CUNY), where he’s been teaching in the Communication Design Department since 2010. His work has been included in both the American Illustration and American Photography annuals. He has been drawing since he could hold a crayon and does his best to draw every single day. His work is primarily figurative and humanist, with an interest and focus on storytelling. Storytelling both in single editorial images that imply a greater narrative, and also sequential work. I’m a full-time storyboard artist and freelance character/toy designer. I’ve been in the industry for over 10 years. In that time I’ve had the opportunity to work on properties of some of my childhood favorites like Spider-Man, Scooby Doo, TMNT, Ghostbusters, and Sonic the Hedgehog. I’m always looking for new and exciting challenges and projects.

BIO –
I’m Penelope “Peng-Peng” Gaylord. I’m a character designer and illustrator in LA and co-founded Identity Comics Studio. I’ve illustrated two Little Golden Books for Penguin Random House – “Captain Marvel” and “Avengers:Battle on the Moon” – which were released in 2019. I’ve done design work and illustrations for Spin Master and Crunchyroll. I’ve also drawn covers for Boom Studios, IDW, and Action Lab.

kitKit Seaton grew up on a steady diet of comic strips, 80’s cartoons, and volumes of illustrated fairy tale books. She’s bussed tables, sold computers, slung coffee, directed plays, and designed costumes before finally finding her home illustrating comic books. Kit earned her master’s in illustration from the Hartford Art School and has taught comics and illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Savannah College of Art and Design, and California State University Fullerton. She makes her home with a pup named Panya in the Inland Northwest.

Cat

 

Cat Seaton is a writer from the Inland Northwest. Though she sets out to write whimsy, she often ends up writing horror instead.

K Willberg in pelvis shirtKriota Willberg makes comics and illustrations exploring narratives of the health, illness, medical history, and bioethics. Her book, Draw Stronger: Self-Care for Cartoonists and Visual Artists, is published by Uncivilized Books. Her comics have appeared in: 4PANEL.ca, SubCultures, Comics For Choice, The Graphic Canon, and Intima: Journal of Narrative Medicine, among others. Her comic Silver Wire was nominated for a 2019 Ignatz Award. She writes a self-care column for the Comics Beat called “Get A Grip!” Willberg, a licensed massage therapist specializing in sports- and oncology massage, has a certificate in bioethics and medical humanities from Montefiore-Einstein College of Medicine and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts. In 2017 Willberg was the inaugural Artist In Residence at the New York Academy of Medicine Library. She teaches graphic medicine and drawing in the Department of Humanistic Medicine at NYU. In her photo she is wearing a T-shirt of her one of her anatomical illustrations for her client Movement Science Made Simple.

TJ Sterling, a model and martial artist is the President and Lead artist of RAE Comics, a dynamic indie comic company that focuses on telling powerful stories about unique and diverse characters.

TJ started his career working for the infamous Marvel Bullpen as Production Artist for over a year. Post working at Marvel Entertainment, TJ would go on to create cover art for Dark Horse, Interior art for Aspen Comics and most recently art for DC Comics Batman Giant issue #5.

Tj is also the writer and artist of the ongoing comic series Okemus published through RAE Comics. A sci-fi martial art action tale centered around a young man of color with a superhuman ability that could potentially save the human race.

With a catalogue of issues in stores and in the hands of fans across the globe Okemus has become a huge favorite in the comic industry.

Meet Sequential Illustrator N. Steven Harris

The 2 time Eisner Nominated, 4 time Glyph Award winning, and recently, a VLA (Virginia Library Association) Graphic Novel Diversity Award winning, Watson and Holmes, published by New Paradigm Studios, and co-creating, the 2 time Glyph Award winning book,  for Best Female Character, Ajala:  A Series of Adventures, along with Robert Garrett, N. Steven Harris has had a career spanning over 20 years in the comic book industry.

His highlights include DC Comic’s Aztek: The Ultimate Man, a character which he co-created along with Grant Morrison and Mark Millar, for DC Comics. His credits also include Batman:  Officer DownBatman 80pp GiantThe Huntress (DC Comics)Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty, Generation X, X-Force, and Deadpool Annual ’98 (Marvel Entertainment). Within the last 5 years he has worked on titles such as VoltronNew Money and Solarman. Mr. Harris’s most recent publication is DC/Wildstorms Michael Cray. He also has participated in gallery shows showcasing comic book art in New York, Philadelphia, Georgia, Chicago, California, and Japan.
