My concept for this project was online dating during the Covid-19 pandemic. After reading articles on this topic, I quickly realized that although we are all scared of this virus and prefer to quarantine most of the time, the need for social interaction and in this case, romantic, is still there, stronger than ever. Most of all online dating websites reported the highest activity in their history during the first few months of the quarantine. Although this can be simply explained by the boredom that people were experiencing while staying home, the absence of close human connections that is still relevant today makes me wonder what kind of psychological effects it might have on adults in general.

I decided to depict a romance in the digital world by showing box of chocolates and roses in a downloadable, digital form. I believe that this provides that metaphorical paradox where the symbols of romance & dating that are supposed to be in physical form are now presented fully digital.
