I think it was interesting to know that we can also think of human parts as ‘blocks.’ It makes it easier for me to understand because of what I’ve learned in foundation drawing from last semester. (p.16)
Good Analysis Sophia! Its is definitely related. When you consider the human body as blocks, or 3 D masses it is much easier to understand and draw them them as movable parts.
One thing that I find interesting is that the person/model must stand upright, and they can’t bend or move their body. The reason being, is that it would change the proportions, visually.
It was interesting that the thigh and the leg support the greatest part of the weight of the body, I thought it would be the chest of the figure, this made is easier to draw the body parts.
I find it interesting to use the human head to measure the rest of the body so that everything can balance out.
Good- its a very solid way to measure out the rest of the proportions!
