We are thrilled to be working with Wikimedia NYC to host Wikipedia Day at City Tech in January 2026. Wikipedia Day NYC is the annual birthday party for the biggest online encyclopedia; in 2026 we get to celebrate 25 years! Together we will explore the past, present, and future of the free knowledge movement, and celebrate all the people, communities and ideas that make Wikipedia possible.

What will the day look like?
The schedule will include things like:
- Keynote speeches
- Lightning talks
- Panels & presentations on internet culture, etc.
- Beginner-level training for new Wikipedia editors!
- Interactive edit-a-thons and skill-building workshops
- Creative and cultural activities celebrating global stories and local histories
- Lots of food, cake & community-building with Wikimedians and partners in New York City
